Osttirol Eastern Tirol is one of the largest resort regions of Tyrol with excellent conditions for family skiing, training for beginners and snowboarders. Lienz, the capital of East Tyrol, is considered to be the sunniest place in Austria, and a picturesque view of the Dolomites will fascinate even experienced travelers. Here is one of the highest peaks of Austria - Grossglockner (3798 m) and the Moelltal Glacier (3122 m). In East Tyrol, there are 4 skiing areas, including a total of about 180 km of ski slopes and 65 ski lifts. All 4 skiing areas - Kals-Matrai, Lienz, St. Jakob-in-Defereggen, Zillian in the Hochpustert Valley - are included in a single skipass.
